Primary grades are almost through exploring this year’s Buckaroo Book Award Nominees. Students vote for their favorite book next week! Watch to see which book gets the most votes here at Crest Hill.
Fourth grade classes have done a fantastic job of investigating the Dewey Decimal System. Students finished marking the Informational shelves and Non-Fiction bins with section dividers, signs, and labels marking Dewey classes and subjects. They learned a whole lot about Dewey Classification, but not only that, their work will enable patrons of all ages and abilities to locate library resources much more easily.
Fifth graders have been looking at S.P.I.D.E.R. Website evaluation and MLA citation format as they prepare to begin researching libraries and the practice of book lending so they can then build their very own libraries.
